General Dermatology

Genesee Valley Dermatology and Laser Centre provides a full range of dermatologic services to infants, children and adults.  The doctors and nurse practitioners are board certified and provide the highest quality outpatient care.  They have attending privileges at Strong Memorial Hospital, Highland Hospital and Rochester General Hospital.

Our doctors treat conditions such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis (eczema), acne, warts, scars, keloids, new rashes, changing moles and new growths.  We have two different lasers for the treatment of warts.  Allergen patch testing is done for allergic contact dermatitis.  Surgical removal of benign lesions such as moles and cysts, as well as skin cancers, is performed in the office under local anesthesia.  We also are experienced in treating and evaluating hair loss or excess hair growth and conditions of the nails.  We perform full body skin checks for abnormal moles and for the detection of skin cancer. GVD&LC has two types of light devices for the treatment of psoriasis, vitiligo, and other light sensitive problems.  These are narrowband UVB and the XTRAC laser.

GVD&LC has volunteered for the New Beginnings: Radiation-Mark-Removal Program offering free radiation mark removal for cancer survivors.

Our doctors will review your medical history, assess your condition, and prescribe treatment based on the latest research and proven technology.  Our nursing staff is well trained and knowledgeable and will answer all of your questions and concerns.  The business staff, from the reception area to the insurance and billing departments, is ready to assist you with any questions you may have.

We are most often able to accommodate same day visits for urgent concerns.  In fact, if you have a new rash or changing lesion or mole, it is preferred that you schedule an urgent visit with a dermatologist instead of seeking care at an urgent care facility or emergency room. Many times, prior treatment of a rash will impair the ability of a dermatologist to see the rash in its full expression.

If you are coming in for a full skin check, we kindly ask that you arrive at your appointment without makeup or nail polish.   This allows us to better examine your skin for any abnormalities.

If you have questions about our office or would like to make an appointment, please call our office at your earliest convenience to schedule a consultation with the providers.
